Activity Park

Welcome to Skien fritidspark – experiences for ALL!

The activity park is situated in a serene location surrounded by greenery and accessible to everyone. Free weekend parking (weekdays after 6 pm, approx. NOK 25 per day) and HC parking goes without saying. Below you will find a brief description of activities that are especially well suited and adapted for people with varying degrees of disability.

Climbing Park

In the summer of 2021, the park got a brand-new attraction with an accessible zipline measuring 220 metres, 10 metres above the ground! This is an experience that will be forever etched in your memory, and also an experience you can share with someone, who can ride in parallel on the other cable. A belay device slows you down at the end, to keep you from hitting the landing pad too hard. You can choose between base jumping and being lowered from the landing tower.

When you buy your ticket, remember to mention that you need assistance, and to prebook a time slot!

We also have shorter ziplines, though without any lifting/lowering device. These can be used by anyone who are sufficiently able.

In the open season, the accessible zipline can be booked every day from 3 to 6 pm.

Please send your inquiry to hotell@skienfritidspark.no

Indoor Climbing

Indoor climbing is also popular! The climbing wall has several leads with varying degrees of difficulty, and the local climbing club is happy to provide instructors for groups staying with us. The club has its own instructors who are skilled in "paraclimbing". The climbing wall is situated in the multi-purpose sports hall (Flerbrukshallen), so you can easily try out other activities while waiting for your turn. In addition, the hall has a great bouldering room. In other words, the whole association/family can get together and have a joint activity session.

Note! Remember to prebook a time slot for the climbing wall and mention the need for an adapted visit.

King Kong Curling!

Skien fritidspark is proud to present an outstanding curling experience. We have real ice all year round, so if you’re not only looking for a delicious soft ice to cool you down on a hot day, we’ve got you covered. Curling is lots of fun for groups and families. We have motivated instructors who will be happy to show you the ropes. If you are not able to reach the curling stone, you will be provided with a delivery stick. Only a small amount of force is required to make the stone slide, so this is an activity for everyone.

Mini Golf

Mini golf remains an entertaining and popular activity. We have a full 18-hole course on artificial grass with easy access. Some degree of mobility is needed for putting, but all you have to do is try, and don’t forget to be creative in the way you go about it. The felt courses vary in difficulty, but all the courses are on ground level. Perfect as a pastime or as part of a challenge in combination with e.g. disc golf and quiz. Groups can create their own challenge, or we can assist.

Deck Shuffleboard

Shuffleboard is an amazingly exciting and fun game that can be played by people of all ages. You may have seen the table version in pubs and sports bars, but the deck variant is quite new in Norway. Disks or pucks are pushed to glide down a narrow court using a cue-stick (or simply cue). The aim is to place the disks within a marked scoring area at the far end of the court, prevent the opponent from scoring, or achieve both in one turn. You can play a single game (2 persons) or a double (4 persons), or with teams, with no limitation on the number of players. The winner is the first to reach 75 points! Please visit the reception in the activity park for score sheets, playing rules etc.

Table tennis

Table tennis is great for children as well as adults and easily adaptable to the players’ qualifications and level. The worldwide popularity of the sport - in fact it’s the second biggest individual sport in the world - shows that this is a social activity suitable for all, regardless of skill level. Playing table tennis is a particularly good way of improving coordination and motor skills. A decent level of proficiency can be achieved quite quickly - try for yourself! The winner is the first to reach 11 points.

Bungee Trampoline

Defy gravity on the bungee trampoline! There are bungee trampolines in the activity park.

Always a winner with the youngest kids, but an exciting activity for spectators too!

Other activities: Chess, disc golf, beach volleyball, padel tennis, basketball, ladder golf and cornhole.

The activity park is situated a mere 150 metres from the hotel, and the reception can be found in Café Pucken in the ice dome.

Welcome!
